Welcome to Westerhope Golf Club
Monday 24th March 2020 - Coronavirus Update
As you will have heard from the Government this evening, we have to close our golf club and course with immediate effect.
Naturally this is not the news we wanted to hear, but our hands are tied and we have to do the right thing by adhering to this directive from the Government.
The clubhouse locker rooms will be open on Tuesday 24th March from 8.30am until 12.30pm for those members who wish to collect any personal belongings from their locker. This will be the only time you will be able to do this as we will be totally closed thereafter.
We would advise that only one member at a time inside the locker room and remember to keep social distancing in mind.
Anyone who is a aware of a member not having an email address registered with us, please try to contact them and advise them of the situation.
Sam and his team will be working staggered shifts from 6am each morning and will keep Social Distancing in operation during this period. He has also been instructed to advise the authorities if anyone is playing golf on the course during this period of closure.
Subscriptions are due, as we are all aware, we are working on a solution on how to take payments over the phone. Please bear with us and we will email again on Tuesday.
Situated just 4.5 miles (10 minutes drive) to the West and from the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne and just over 1 mile from the A1.
The Golf Club is a parklands style golf course and first opened on 21st June 1941 and was designed by Sandy Herd born in St. Andrews, Scotland in 1868 and who won the Open Championship in 1902 at Hoylake.
